Haworth West End (A) - 29th April 2009

Asked to bat first Haworth West End enjoyed the Steeton bowling & had 2 batters retired: Palmer (35*) & Holt (35*). The only successful bowler was Luke Watson, who bowled 4 overs & took 2 wickets while conceding 15 runs. Luke's victims were both out caught: one by Nikhil Thomas & the other by James Meehan. In just 16 overs Haworth West End had scored an impressive 132 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets - over 8 runs per over! In reply Steeton were never able to challenge the Haworth total, and were 42 runs for 7 wickets after their 16 overs. Top-scorer for Steeton was Luke Watson, who scored 15 runs. Harpeet Chaggar (8) & James Meehan (6) offered some support, but Steeton lost this fixture by the large margin of 90 runs.      Full Scorecard

Embsay (H) - 13th May 2009

A close match saw Steeton lose again by the small margin of just 8 runs. Steeton won the toss & chose to field first. For Embsay Triffit (37*) was in good form as he retired not out. Embsay lost just 3 wickets scoring 95 runs in their 16 overs. Three of the Steeton bowlers picked-up a single wicket each: Nikhil Thomas (1-6), Steve Lee (1-12) & Jack Smith (1-16). Luke Watson took a catch & the fielding points went to Steve Lee & Nikhil Thomas. Steeton's reply was led by openers Jack Smith (23) & Steve Lee (33), with a good contribution by Luke Watson (9). However with 3 wickets all going to Embsay's Holt (3-9) from 4 overs, Steeton could only manage 87 runs in their 16 overs. With plenty of batting still to come Steeton lost by a mere 8 runs.    Full Scorecard

Steeton go out of the Cup without playing a single match. Steeton were unable to raise a side and so conceded the match to Bingley Congs.
