Summary

Steeton First XI struggled in the 'B' division prompting Captain Bruce Walker to resign part way through the season, being replaced by vice-captain Andrew J. Smith. The First XI's cup performances went from the ridiculous to the sublime: following an embarrassing first round Keighley Cup exit at the hands of Sutton C.C., pride was restored with an excellent Cockspur Cup run, losing finally to York C.C. in the regional semi finals. The Second XI also had a good cup run - reaching the final of the Keighley Second XI cup, but unfortunately losing to bogey side Harden C.C. A fund-raising sponsored walk took place from Lancaster to the pavilion (46 miles) - John D. Walker and Graham C. Robinson completing the full distance. Groundsman, Mr Denis Baxter, was awarded the Chairman's Rosebowl. The Steeton Village 5-a-side Funday was won by the Keighley Police.
