Summary
This was a topsy-turvy season for the Club with the First XI being promoted, but the Second XI unfortunately being relegated. The prolific scoring of overseas player Ben J. Hook, who broke the league run scoring aggregate for the season with a total of 1,390 runs, helped Steeton First XI bounce straight back into the 'A' division; they broke the league record for the most number of runs scored in an innings 351-4 at home against Guiseley, and they broke the record number of points accrued in a season. While achieving these records the First XI topped the 300 run mark on no less than 5 occasions and set the top four record scores made by Steeton C.C. batters. New players include Stuart C. Hudson from Ilkley C.C. part way through the season. Both our First XI and Second XI had successful Keighley Cup campaigns - the First XI winning the Cup and the Second XI unfortunately losing in the final - both sides playing Harden C.C. Mrs Marjorie Topham was awarded the Chairman's Rosebowl for her long-time support of the Club. The Steeton Village 5-a-side Funday was won by Aireburn Garage.
