Summary
What a great season! After a 2 year sojourn in the 'B' division, our 1st XI have won promotion back to the top flight. The 1st XI batting was their strength as a remarkable total of 8 centuries were scored. They also reached the semi-final stage of the Waddilove cup. With the 'power' of the Shield and a great supportive team spirit our 2nd XI are division 'A' champions for the first time ever. Collectively our 1st XI & 2nd XI have won the Burmah Oil Club championship for the 3rd time in our history. Underlining the club's strength in depth our 3rd XI were also runners-up in their league - their best ever finishing position. Steeton can also celebrate three players who have won the league averages: David Atkinson won the 2nd XI league bowling award, Julian Higginson won the 2nd XI league wicket-keeping award, and Mark Hedges won the 3rd XI league batting award. Charlotte Boulton is the League's Young Scorer of the Year.
