Chairman’s Report 2016

The massive highlight of the year were the Juniors once again.

All 5 junior teams doing exceptionally ell in league and cup with the u15s and u17s winning their respective leagues.

Juniors playing senior cricket have started to contribute to winning games which is very positive.

3rd team winning the overall league was again superb this is a huge positive for progression to 2nd and hopefully 1st team.

The 1st and 2nd teams both struggled this season as a team…and with individual performances, which was a shame, but hopefully as a club we can rectify this next season with a bit more team spirit and commitment.

Off the field the club is in excellent condition both financially and in general.

Teas and ground where excellent once again – and the young scorers helped the club no end with the technology which is impacting on the game.

A big thank you to the committee and the officials who again worked tirelessly to help maintain our high standards and the captains who looked after the players – some of who need more looking after than others!

Overall Steeton is in a far better situation than many cricket clubs but we must strive to become better both on and off the field to protect what many people have helped achieve over the years.

I look forward to 2017 to see what we can achieve together
