Background
In 2007 the Club signed a Focus Club ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ after satisfying the prerequisites
- It was affiliated to ECB via the Yorkshire Cricket Board;
- It was committed to achieving the objectives within the ECB Strategic Plan;
- It had achieved and was maintaining ECB ClubMark Accreditation evidence that it was a safe, effective and child friendly club;
- It displayed a commitment to monitoring and evaluation; and
- A representative attended and actively participated in a local Cricket Development Group
Current Focus Club Criteria
- The Club will support the current ECB Strategic Plan – ‘Cricket Unleashed’ to introduce more people to the game and show a new generation how to get involved;
- It has a Development Plan that has been approved by the County Board and is reviewed and updated annually – (by 31st August every year);
- It will work in partnership with ECB, the County Board, schools and the community to deliver agreed Development Plan outcomes;
- It will produce annual figures for the ECB on-line data for ECB, YCB and other key partners (usually in September each year);
- It maintains strong and continued links with all key strategic partners;
- It has an active junior section and ensures the safest possible junior development programme that fully incorporates issues such as Child Welfare
- It is committed strategically to the delivery of junior development programmes and activities including specific target groups;
- It will try to ensure that a minimum of one formal Club-School link is in place;
- It will contribute to an annually increase in participation, volunteers, players, coaches and improve quality;
- It will share ‘best practice’ with other Focus/ non-Focus Clubs;
- It will sign up for and actively take part in ‘NatWest Cricket Force’ each year; and
- It will support local clubs,schools and community groups in the area and to encourage business and sponsors to assist the development of ClubMark and Club-School links to increase participation
